Tactus creates tactile user interface for buttons on demand

If you’re a fan of physical keyboards rather than using touchscreens all the time, then this video is for you.

Tactus Technology has developed a new tactile user interface for touchscreen devices that makes physical buttons magically appear on the surface of device when required. When the buttons are not required, they simply slink back to leave a smooth, seamless flat touch-screen.

The secret lies in the special ‘Tactile Layer’ that integrates with existing touchscreens by replacing the device’s top layer with the Tactus surface. Since it’s the same thickness it doesn’t add any extra thickness or weight, and consumes very little power as well.
