iOS 4.3.3 to fix the location tracking bug

BGR, who seems to have a golden Apple source when it comes to iOS related news, has put forward a claim according to which Apple will launch iOS 4.3.3 in the coming two weeks or even earlier.

The tech blog who has gotten their hands on the iOS 4.3.3 ipsw file reveals that the upcoming update will address the following issues :

  • No longer back up the location database to iTunes.
  • The size of the location database will be reduced.
  • The location database will be deleted entirely when Location Services are turned off.
  • Battery life improvements.
  • iPod bug fixes.

The technology blogosphere went all vocal when a rather shocking discovery of Apple tracking the location of its iPhone and iPad users was made. This incident was followed by rumors that Apple will fix this issue with an iOS update. Given BGR’s recent iOS track record, one can see this claim near the reality.
