Apple sells out online shipment of new iPad

Looking to get your paws on the new iPad? Well it looks like you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.

Apple has sold out on all its online shipments of the new device on its US store as well as across Europe. The UK online Apple store now lists the delivery date as ’2-3 weeks’ (see screenshot below), which indicates that demand for the new iPad is already bottle-necking Apple’s stocks.

While the new iPad hasn’t changed much from the iPad 2 with the exception of a better screen and 4G, it’s clear that consumers are eager to snatch up the new device and stampede through Apple’s stores when the device goes retail on March 16th in the US. When the iPad 2 stocks started running out, delivery dates were pushed up to 3-4 weeks, so it’s looking likely that this might also happen with the new iPad.

The company is set to launch the new iPad in 23 other countries by March 23rd, so only time will tell if they’ll be able to deliver on the massive demand for their latest toy.
