During the recent Q2 earnings, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop discussed about the sales of the current Windows Phone 7 handsets the Finnish company has released to date. Over the last three months Nokia has sold 4 million Lumia handsets worldwide, double the Q1 figures.
Despite the modest sales, Elop said that the coming release of Windows Phone 8 software in October, which promises better coordination and more features for computers and smartphones running Microsoft software, would further lift sales of Lumia devices,” according to NY Times.
The expected release date of Windows Phone 8 is not really surprising, given the desktop variant, Windows 8, will release on 26th October. Now all we wait for is the official date, however mark October as the month for all things Windows 8.
