The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is gearing up to face a new challenge in traffic control: managing the masses of people lining up at Grand Central for the latest Apple release or Shake Shack burgers. At the transportation authorityâs committee hearings Monday, the agencyâs director of real estate, Jeffrey Rosen, confirmed that in the coming months Apple will open a store wrapping around the east side of the balcony at Grand Central terminal and a Shake Shack will open up in the basement, around the corner from the Oyster Bar.
