Hitachi Data Systems to integrate the two main solutions with VMware vSphere 5 along with a set of cloud infrastructure. The integration is expected to improve the optimization and development of IT infrastructure and accelerate the deployment of cloud computing.
Both of these solutions is the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) and the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage (AMS) 2000. Integration will strengthen the high-performance storage array technology that can increase the density, flexibility and efficiency of virtual machine (VM) in VMware environments vSphere.
In addition, Hitachi VSP will extend the benefits of the features in VMware vSphere 5 to the external array storage system from a third party. This unique capability can cut IT costs for customers to protect existing investments.
"Hitachi Data Systems and VMware share a common vision, namely that virtualization technology is the basis for realizing Cloud computing and cloud infrastructure," said Hu Yoshida, Chief Technology Officer, Hitachi Data Systems on Tuesday (26 / 7).
"As one of the first vendor to integrate with VMware vSphere 5, Hitachi Data Systems to ensure that customers can continue to get maximum value from VMware environment while expanding the scale rollout,''he said
Many features in Hitachi storage platforms, called Yoshida ideal for virtual environments. He claimed to be the foundation for the customer to operate a data center or a private cloud infrastructure in a flexible and cost effective.
"Integration with VMware vSphere 5 will bring important benefits for customers, helping large companies operate more efficiently and more agile, while holding the foundation for cloud infrastructure," said Parag Patel, Vice President, Global Strategic Alliance, VMware.
He refers to Hitachi Data Systems has become a valuable technology partner and trusted. ''Together, we will continue to help customers deliver IT services that are adaptive, high performing and reliable, "said Patel.
VSP integration between Hitachi, Hitachi AMS and VMware vSphere 5 will be of increasing importance in the relationship between Hitachi and VMware continues to grow. Since 2002, Hitachi Data Systems and VMware has been presenting innovative virtualization from upstream to downstream for storage consolidation, backup and archiving, business continuity and storage management.
